War Boys: A Father and Son Memoir (Memoir), Wales, MA
“If War Boys meets its potential it will be an anti-war- anti-displacement rallying call.”
I’m the author of War Boys: a Father and Son Memoir, a braided story about my Russian father’s adoption by Nazis during World War II and how his trauma carried into parenthood. I’m represented by Sterling Lord Literistic, Inc. I earned an MFA in creative nonfiction from George Mason University. My writing has appeared in Salon, Cognoscenti, Brevity, and Pangyrus, and is forthcoming on WORLD Channel’s Stories from the Stage. I’ve received support from SAFTA, Prospect Street, Write On, Door County, and a Contributor Award in Nonfiction from Bread Loaf. I won the 2023 PEN America/Jean Stein Grant for Literary Oral History. I run my own law office dedicated to disability advocacy.
