Sahar Delijani

April 25, 2023

The Luminous Blue (Literary Fiction), New York, NY

The Luminous Blue explores life in a dictatorship, the inheritance of loss and trauma and the way we survive by the stories we tell.

“I hope the novel depicts the power of storytelling and how taking the narrative into our own hand is our most powerful weapon against tyranny.”

Sahar Delijani is the author of CHILDREN OF THE JACARANDA TREE, an autobiographical novel, which has been translated into 30 languages and published in more than 75 countries. Born in Iran in 1983, she grew up in California and lived for many years in Turin, Italy. Twice a Pushcart nominee and longlisted for the Granum Foundation Prize and Le Livre de Poche Prix des Lecteurs, Delijani’s writings have appeared in Literary Hub, Kweli Journal, The Bellevue Review, Slice Magazine, BBC Persian, Zeit Online, DW Persian, Femina Middle East and more. She currently lives in New York City, writing her second novel.
