A dual-timeline narrative exploring the parallel battles of a Black history teacher and his father against racism, united by legacy, love, and the quest for justice.

“My aim is to empower Black readers by examining the costs and impacts of battling racism, exploring the weight of legacy, and affirming the strength found in our collective history and individual choices.”

Celestial Holmes, writing as Mbinguni, is a celebrated author whose work resonates deeply with readers across the globe. A Florida native with a diverse professional background, Celestial has fully embraced her calling as a full-time writer. Her debut novel, “Looking for Hope,” has been widely acclaimed, earning a 4.9-star rating on platforms such as Amazon and GoodReads. Beyond her novels, Celestial contributes her writing talents to media platforms, such as BlackGirlNerds.com and BlackWithNoChaser.com. Her dedication to exploring and amplifying Black narratives has been recognized with prestigious accolades, including the 2022 Hurston Wright Screenwriting Fellowship and the 2023 Kimbilio Fellowship.
