The Body in the Greenhouse (Historical Fiction), Jamestown, RI

The Body in the Greenhouse, a mystery set at Harvard in 1948, explores closed societies and the social codes required to succeed within them.

“My interest is in exploring unspoken rules that govern how individuals are expected to ‘play the game’ in order to be successful within exclusive societies.”

Alexandra (Alex) Cain earned her B.A from Boston University in English Literature and MBA from Cornell University, where she was a Roy H. Park leadership fellow. Alex spent much of her career in marketing and brand management and is currently a full-time lecturer at the University of Rhode Island. She draws on her past experience to explore the unspoken social codes that predicate achievement. She has attended writing classes at Sackett Street in New York and is a member of LitRI’s novel writing group. Alex is currently at work on her first novel.
