Amy Kennedy Accepted to the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference

May 30, 2025

Headshot of writer Amy Kennedy looking at the camera in front of a gray background. She is wearing a black top, large-framed patterned glasses, big earrings, and her hair is down. White text underneath reads, in all caps, "Congratulations Amy! Accepted to the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers' Conference"Congratulations to COURAGE to WRITE grantee Amy Kennedy, who was accepted to and will be attending the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers’ Conference!

During her time at Bread Loaf, Amy will be workshopping the manuscript for her next project, All’s Well That Ends, a nonfiction book about how Evangelical eschatology affects our country’s climate policies and our Western cultures overall views of climate change.

The project for which she was awarded a grant, Vanishing Points: Words for Disappearing, will be published later this year.

Amy Kennedy is a writer and educator examining environmental issues in Louisiana. Witnessing the compounding crises of modern life while watching her two young children discover the natural world inspires her writing. Amy created the website ALongNewThread.com, an online space for processing ecoanxiety and ecogrief. She has a B.S. in English from Appalachian State University and is a 2023 Loyola Institute of Environmental Communication Fellow. Amy is a 2024 recipient of the Antenna Press Publishing Award, and her first book, Vanishing Points: Words for Disappearing, will be released this year.
