Meet Anthony Hudson, a 2024 COURAGE to WRITE Grantee working on his memoir, Looking for Tiger Lily.
An Indigiqueer artist grows up seeing redface in Peter Pan and pop culture—until finding true representation and power through their ancestors and drag.
Anthony Hudson is a Grand Ronde and Siletz artist and writer also known as Portland, Oregon’s premier drag clown Carla Rossi. Anthony’s performance work, from his award-winning solo show “Looking for Tiger Lily” to “Queer Horror” have earned him national fellowships, international engagements, and sainthood from the Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
An exciting update from Anthony: “In addition to an upcoming stay at Tin House, Looking for Tiger Lily has been awarded a North Coast Writers’ Residency. I am very excited to continue building this text while playing with chapter arrangement and structure on the homelands that inspired it.”
