Naming the Ghost (poetry)  Glendale, NY

A woman has recently become a mother and lost her father, and a ghost has begun haunting this new family. These poems chart a course toward healing in the face of loss. Naming the Ghost examines grief, physical pain, and the way chronic illness manifests itself in everyday life.

Emily Hockaday’s first full-length collection, Naming the Ghost, will be out in November with Cornerstone Press. She is the author of five chapbooks, most recent Beach Vocabulary from Red Bird Chaps. She received her MFA with NYU and has had poems appear in journals such as the North American Review, Salamander, Electric Literature, Newtown Literary, and others. Her poems have been featured on RadioLab, with the performance series Emotive Fruition, in numerous reading series, and in the Office Hours Fellows showcase events. You can find Emily on the web at www.emilyhockaday.com or @E_Hockaday.
