In Other Plans, a Cherokee woman fights to protect her niece from an unlawful adoption by her white grandparents while reckoning with feeling distant from her own culture.
Emma Barrow is a citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She is an award-winning writer and filmmaker whose work often centers complex intergenerational family dynamics and strong Cherokee women. She hopes to write films that uplift her community and make them proud of how they are represented.
An exciting update from Emma: “The short film adaptation of my feature, Redbird, is in the final stages of post-production thanks to the support of Vision Maker Media!”
