heidi andrea restrepo rhodes

April 9, 2024

ampersand organ (Poetry), San Francisco, CA

Poetry collection weaving neuroqueer forms of life shaped by a perpetual ‘and’: associative leaps, sensory and emotional synesthesia, and inter-species being and relation.

“I hope these poems become open doors to otherwise possibilities unfolding through our neurological, affective, and bodily constitution as always shared, collective, and entangled with other human and more-than-human life.”

heidi andrea restrepo rhodes (they/them) is a queer, disabled, brown/Colombian, writer, scholar, educator, and cultural worker. They are author of the poetry collection, The Inheritance of Haunting (University of Notre Dame Press, 2019) and the chapbook, Ephemeral (Ecotheo Collective, 2024). They are a 2023 recipient of the Creative Capital Award, a VONA Alum, and have received poetry fellowships from Zoeglossia, CantoMundo, Radar, and Yale’s Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration. Their writing has been published in American Poetry Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Poetry, and Waxwing, among other places. They currently live in California.
