The Bath School Disaster (novel) Petaluma, CA

In 1927, Andrew Kehoe blew up the only school in Bath, Michigan, killing 45 people. It remains the biggest school bombing in US history. This novel is a fictionalization of that event told by one of the victims, a World War I veteran who’s also a ghost.

Joy Lanzendorfer is the author of the novel Right Back Where We Started From, which is coming out in paperback in August. Other work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, NPR, Ploughshares, Raritan, Alaska Quarterly Review, and the Poetry Foundation.
