Searching for Zora: The Face of America Today (Creative Nonfiction) represented by Great Dog Literary

A cross-country photo-essay journey into the state of America’s most challenged communities featuring Zora’s iconic exploration of the depression-era South and Watson’s contemporary profiles powerfully told through his words and images.

New York-born and based in Los Angeles, author, photographer, writer, and director Kim Watson is committed to using art as a catalyst for social change. He’s written for Hollywood studios, directed 30 music videos, earned numerous awards and accolades, and received NAACP recognition. His multimedia exhibition “TRESPASS” debuted in 2022, followed by a recent 2024 exhibition at City Club LA and an upcoming featured screening of the TRESPASS documentary at the 2025 Teaneck International Film Festival. His book, TRESPASS: Portraits of Unhoused Life, Love, and Understanding, was accompanied by a national book tour and documentary. “Through my writing, I seek to turn societal self-obsession into a concern for others that will benefit us all”
