Linda Musita

July 20, 2022

Immaculate Pandemic (novella) Nairobi, Kenya

In light of the recent overturning of Roe v Wade we (including artists and writers) need to do all we can to create global awareness on women’s reproductive rights and the value of having autonomy over one’s body and choices. When I started working on this project in 2020 I had no idea 2022 would turn out like this for women, I was just pushing the imagination to make a statement.

Linda Musita is a fiction writer from Kenya. The Africa 39 Project identified her as one of Africa’s most promising writers under the age of 40 with the potential and talent to define trends in the development of literature from Africa and the African diaspora. Her short fiction has been published by Bloomsbury UK, Goethe Institut, Jalada, and Lolwe among others. One of her short stories ‘Squad’ was among Brittle Paper’s 79 Notable Pieces of 2017 under the Fiction Category and a top 10 nominee for the Fiction Award in the Inaugural Brittle Paper Literary Awards for The Best of African Literature Online
