Can’t Stay. Can’t Stay. Won’t Go. (Screenplay), Brooklyn, NY

“To explore the complexities of familial dynamics in a dangerous, complicated world, blending fact and fiction to deliver an honest truth about love and betrayal.”

Nastaran Ahmadi is a Brooklyn-based writer from post-revolutionary Iran. Her plays have been developed and/or produced by theater companies and festivals such as The Cherry Lane Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, Actors Theater of Louisville, and The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Her short film “This Is Harriet” premiered at The 2022 Mammoth Film Festival, and won The 2022 Audience Award and Best Actor in a Short Film at Chelsea Film Festival. Nastaran has received residencies from The Exchange’s Orchard Project, Vineyard Arts Project, and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. She holds a BA in Theater from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA in Playwriting from Yale School of Drama, where she was awarded the ASCAP Cole Porter Prize in Playwriting.
