A Superfluous Man explores what it means to care for children at this fraught moment, all while seeking out the fissures between our digital and analog lives.

Nishant Batsha is the author of Mother Ocean Father Nation. This novel was longlisted for a Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award, a finalist for a Lambda Literary Award, and named among 2022’s best books by NPR. An exciting update from Nishant:“My second novel, A Bomb Placed Close to the Heart, will be released by ecco/ HarperCollins in July 2025. That project was a finalist for a 2022 COURAGE to WRITE grant. I’m excited to see it published!”
