“Raise awareness about the risks refugees and migrants reaching Europe routinely endure, from what they en route to the violence they often face after arriving.” 

Patrick Strickland is a writer and journalist from Texas. His reportage has appeared in the New York Review of Books, Politico E.U., The Guardian, The New Republic, TIME magazine, and elsewhere. He’s worked as a news editor at the Dallas Observer, a senior reporter at Al Jazeera English, and the managing editor of Syria Deeply. He’s the author of two books, most recently including The Marauders: Standing Up to Vigilantes in the American Borderlands. He has written about migration and displacement for nearly 13 years, reporting from some 15 countries across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
