Pepper Auerbach

April 10, 2024

My Brain Itches! (Graphic Novel/Memoir), Brooklyn, NY

My Brain Itches! follows a young boy named Pepper, as he navigates living with the sometimes frightening surreality of his psychosis.

“I hope that this book helps to destigmatize serious mental illness, and opens up conversation about the importance of mental health awareness in childhood.”

Pepper Auerbach is a writer and illustrator from Brooklyn, New York. Auerbach graduated from the School of Visual Arts in 2023 with a BFA in Illustration. They were diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder in 2015, and have since sought to start productive conversations regarding mental health awareness. They find joy in sharing stories to destigmatize mental health topics, through art and their work as an Ambassador for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). They are also in love with the horror genre, and have written and illustrated eerie tales for their own enjoyment.
