Randy Faustino

April 10, 2024

Kosmotrope (Graphic Novel), Sioux Falls, SD

(c) John Preston

Two heroes will find that their differences and their own supernatural secrets will be needed to save their town from an enraged primordial entity.

“I hope my stories show that by focusing on curiosity, respect, and openness, diversity becomes a serendipitous and welcome consequence rather than a corporate punchline or shoehorned political line item.”

As a first generation North American-born son of Philippine immigrants, Randy Faustino is currently a scientist and STEM educator and has been awarded grants from the American Heart Association, the National Institutes of Health, the South Dakota’s Governor’s Office of Economic Development, and the Sioux Falls Arts Council for his work. He has published numerous scientific articles in specialized journals in his field after earning his PhD in Physiology. His experiences as a POC scientist intersect with a lifelong love of speculative fiction that together drive his goals to improve contemporary perspectives on diversity and science accessibility.
