The Stone Thrower’s Daughter (Play), New York City, NY
In post-Roe America, a woman must choose between her rebellious daughter and her powerful husband, the most conservative governor of a “red” state.
“My play, The Stone Thrower’s Daughter, is a warning to all those who clamor for control over women’s bodies; ‘Be careful what you wish for.'”
Sabura writes about issues she wants to understand more deeply through the depiction of relationships resulting from ethnic & racial caste systems. Her work has garnered acclaim including a Best New Play nomination from AUDELCO and has been presented in venues around New York City and Chicago. She is both a writer and stage director and is currently working on “Brooklyn, Bridge & Fence” a play about the unanticipated relationships that result from gentrification.
