Meet Winshen Liu, a 2024 COURAGE to WRITE Grantee working on her poetry collection, Moonful.
Moonful is a poetry collection about everyday moments of longing and continued negotiations of home and family due to migration.
“I hope my poems inspire empathy and community. As other poets have done in writing about (re)building and finding home, I hope to make others feel seen and heard.”
Winshen is a writer and educator from Illinois. She was selected as a runner-up for the 2023 Lit Fest Emerging Writer Fellowship and shortlisted for the Alpine Fellowship in Poetry and Founders’ Prize for RHINO. Like many, she is grateful for poetry readers and is working on her first novel.
An exciting update from Winshen: “Moonful is a finalist in the Four Way Books Levis Prize! I also have some poems forthcoming in Electric Literature, Bellevue Literary Review, and Variant Lit.”
